Middens no. 1 and no. 2 are located within the Bowers Bluff Archaeological Area; midden no. 3 is more commonly known as the Kimball Island Midden. Radiocarbon analyses date human inhabitation at Midden no. 2 to about 3000 B.C. with abandonment approximately 1,000 years later. Midden no. 1 is dated at about 1690. B.C.
